The dahlias are slowly but surely beginning to bloom. I think 10 out of 120ish have bloomed. Late year, but I have a feeling that extreme heatwave has an effect on that the blooms are also smaller and many have green centers that typically don't. Hopefully this begins to change as the weather does.
Such pretty blooms, Paige! And I like the color of your HH Bashful better then mine. My Bashful was a big deeper in color. Its been a rather horribly hot week here. Your Hollyhill Pink Pearl is lovely. I think I tried to order it and did not succeed. Maybe next year

I got quite a few dahlias from Woodinville Dahlias, mostly rooted cuttings. I lost Larissa to the heat, Suede is blooming (badly, it didn't like the heat), seedling 19-30 hasn't bloomed, nor have Heather,VC Hill, Fenya, Northend 100th and Saltwater Taffy. The plant labelled as AC Jeri is a flame cactus, so possibly AC Sadie which is also carried by Woodinville Dahlias.

Skipley Spot of Gold is gorgeous. Wasn't lucky enough to get that one this year.

One of my small town's gardeners lost her 'sunny spot' which she borrowed from her next door neighbour, and so she put up a notice on the local gardening FB page that she needed to rehome several dozen tubers. I figured there might be a few nice ones, so I went and picked up several different varieties, all labeled in a code. Turned out that the 'SSG' was Skipley Spot of Gold, and it is absolutely stunning. I knew I was lucky to have gotten it! Hope you can get your hands on one for next year.

Thanks. I also have that Woodnville 1909 and your description sounds like mine. All the blooms are a bit different, none have looked like the picture you posted. 1909

I don't think we got the same one! This was my mis-mark.
Bet the red one is out of Rivers Rosebud.
This flower surprised me this morning as I did not see it last night. Note that it is about 7 inches in diameter. Super Sharpie is 6 inches long.
