Blyton is the prefix of a UK breeder. How tall does this one grow? I really like Blyton Stella but would like to see it growing taller.

According to the book, it's supposed to get 3-4 feet tall, but with the heat wave, all my plants are short this year (except for the accidentally overwintered ones, which are closer to normal, but still not as tall as they should be). Right now this plant is around 3 feet tall.

I still like it, Noni, but it looks a bit less like it came from another planet now. I like chartreuse centers on other species and haven't quite learned to dislike it in dahlias yet.

Thanks. I've always grown something, this is the year of the dahlia in our yard. I was probably the only 12 year old that wanted Crockets Victory Garden for Christmas, and a truckload of manure for my birthday. I still have that book and we still refer to it every year.
I am really excited at my first bloom on "Hiro's Welcome". It seems to have overcome its spindly stem and the whole plant looks stronger this year. I have it planted by Bluetiful hoping to cross some pollen but right now I would say they are essentially the same color and Hiro's Welcome has NO Bluetiful in it. Hiro's Welcome showed its first bloom just the time my first and only grandson was born. He is turning 2 next month.

My wife experimented with her iPad in the late afternoon, 6PM or so. The colors look very, very close to me. Chimicum Katie, and Cameo Peach & Miss Delilah are some of our favorites. Twice normal rainfall, 70's and 80's for temps: the dahlias are digging it!
Wow, look at all those pretty blooms! I think I need to try Bloomquist Karen G again...

Thanks for the preview Kevin! I'm also growing Hollyhill Dragonfire, Hollyhill Cotton Candy, Show'N'Tell and Shea's Rainbow. Anxiously awaiting their arrival.

Do you have any other of the Woodinville varieties? I got the unamed seedling I posted above from the Woodinvilles. So far I like it the best out of the few other named varieties I got from them. (Larassa, Suede, and Northend 100)
Skipley Moonglow! I haven't seen that for years! I think maybe I gor mine from ROland Verrone when he was doing dahlias out west here...I would sure love to get my hands on that one again!

I do. I also bought Suede and Northend 100. I'm noticing we have similar taste!
I also bought seedling 1909 (pictured below), but it turned out to be mis-labeled.
I'm happy with that one, as it reminds me of Zoey Rey in color. I can post a pic later.
