I like Ryecroft Zoe. It's not gonna be good if I start the 2022 list this early!

I tried for Hollyhill Tangelo this year, but it never eye'd up. New-to-me this year are Hollyhill Jitterbug and Hollyhill Showtime.

There's nothing wrong with starting a list early, mines at about 50 right now. That HH Exotica looks nice. I planted mine too close to the woods so it's been hit with a never ending invasion of slugs, snails, and earwigs.

Flower Power!
No blooms here and just a few buds. All these pics are appreciated and make me want to go out to my garden and give my dahlias a pep talk!

We enjoy breeding new dahlias!
Very late blooming year here too. Second year seedlings are generally tall and may bloom soon. Very late year.

My garden is slowly beginning to flower with the first and 2nd year seedlings leading the way. But it is still July. Normally things really pop in August. I had 3 Anemone's yesterday: Totally Tangerine, Gitty Up and Sandia Brocade. As well as my first HH Sir J Paxton. Now garden walks are getting to be more fun...

I really like the HH Sir J Paxton. It has unique coloring.
Speaking of garden walks… we're hosting our very first tomorrow. Happy to have a few dahlias blooming, but it's still only 5% of what's planted. Plenty of other pretties to look at! Hopefully the rain will miss us this time.

Love it. My tuber from Swan Island for this one arrived with tuber gall. I got tired of dealing with problems and just tossed it.I think I did take a photo for proof, I have a nice small selection of anemones this year even if it doesn't include Dad's favorite.

Can we have a category for TRULY UGLY Seedlings? Thumb of 2021-07-24/Islander/7a1cf1 Watching it open is sort of like watching a horror show, wondering what is going to happen next but you know its not going to be good!

Just wait until some of mine start blooming if you think that one is ugly.

A few more are opened; Ms Prissy, Lakeview Glow, Black Narcissus. The problem with all your lovely pictures is, I am now lusting after dahlias I didn't even know existed!

This is Lillian Stewart. I think she's pretty.

I am loving all these blooms!

Whenever I see a green Center like that seedling, it always reminds me of Little Shop Of Horrors. Rolling on the floor laughing

A few new blooms here, would really like some rain, but that's just wishful thinking.

I've been watching this odd (shop of horrors) dahlia seedling all season. As someone keenly suggested, I think it's caused by fascination. No lateral shoots and now a weird growth is forming where I pinched it. (I pinched to see what would happen.)

A new normal looking stalk has appeared from underground. I may cut this one off and see what unfolds for round 2.

It lost the genes that form branches off of the stalk. I have seen this several times over the years. They are just a novelty and generally do not bloom.

Sure, Noni. I would take it! I would even promise never to tell where it came from if you wanted. Thumbs up
