I figured it was time to get this thread started. 🥳 My dahlias are behind thanks to unnecessary June heat, and then one week ago a storm wreaked havoc here causing major tree damage with 96 mph winds. Didn't lose a single dahlia plant!

Congratulations on having nice blooms! I think my first that is not a seedling is HH Hello Dolly but the plant is only aobout 40" tall and the bloom is open centered. I hope it settles back into a normal pattern since it is my all time favorite dahlia. (oh yes, I had a Gingeroo that my friend gave me as a growing plant and it has produced one very long blooming flower. Lots of buds are showing color so i should get regular blooms before long.

That's nice to hear that HH Hello Dolly blooms before it hits 5' high.

Thanks Noni, and I hope HH Hello Dolly straightens out soon for you. Mine got shaded out and didn't even bloom last year, and I really missed it.

Kevin- great looking blooms there! I think AC Crazy Train is going on my ever growing wish list now. :)

Ahhh, so jealous of your beautiful blooms!! I'm about 2 weeks out from blooms; it's looking like Skipley spot of gold, Hollyhill Bashful, and Hollyhill Pink Pearl are in a race to see who blooms first.

Melissa, be careful what you wish for! I gave my friend an AC Crazy Train for her birthday the year it was new out, She had seen it in the test garden and liked it. She had a flower stand in our little community and that darn thing just kept churning out flowers until no one wanted it any more because they wanted something new and different!

I'm just getting started on the east coast. I'll harvest my first blooms this week for orders. So far some 3rd and 4th year seedlings are the first to bloom and Coralie is about to join them. (pic is a seedling)

i love seeing everyone's blooms! First to bloom for me is Pooh, followed by Lillian Stewart, American Dawn. Sea Cascabel is just opening. next overcast day, if we ever have one again, I'll try to photograph the lovely Lillian Stewart.

a question for Kevin; what size is AC Crazy Train? I love it; reminds me a little in form and color of Ad Lib, which was an A size I had many years ago.
