My PAC has been like yours, CC. I look at it and say, OH really, this is an AC flower? WHat happened? I expect greater things form one of Ken's. SO this must be what the breeder saw in it, and somehow we have a different version? Or is it weather related?

Maybe weather? This one is new to me from Accent this year.

We've been having wonderfully cool evenings (low 50s) with days in the high 60s. When it started blooming, it was warm at night and mid-70s in the day. Hasn't changed its form one bit since the first bloom.

It's cooler here, perhaps as much as ten degrees on average. Other than that I got nothin'.

I cannot sing higher praises for Erma from Blossom Gulch , compact plant about 4' tall with nice fat medium length stems and you can probably see the blooms from the international space station . Care free , easy to grow . I gotta give it an A+ and two thumbs up

You have never seen a show bloom of Lois V. It is a laciniated yellow and the laciniations are much deeper than Erma. Yes, Erma is a brighter color and quite probably Erma makes better tubers, but Lois V was one of the best if not the best laciniated flower I have ever seen in a show. It was auctioned off at the Federation meeting and someone paid $40.00 for a tuber. But when it comes right down to it, when Lois V does not appear at the show(very seldom seen), Erma will kick butt.

Looks gorgeous, Benny. I like to hear about varieties that are easy to grow. I really prize vigor and floriferousness.

Erma is great here, also!

The only draw back I am seeing in the laciniated varieties is a short vase life , the tips tend to brown quickly and they makes the bloom quite unattractive although we do nothing special to the blooms , no heat treating or special secret water additives to extend vase life . Sure are pretty while they last though . . Hapet Champagne has made quite an impression also , just a little guy for us , about knee high but it keeps pumping out very pretty blooms , usually two to three open at a time .

If you want a breeding "niche" , there is nobody doing strictly laciniated flowers. Jack Vandamont of Colwood got ill and could not continue and that happened just as he was getting some really nice ones.

Northlake Heritage is a nice one and could win if you could keep it from crashing before it's judged

There is a very nice pure pink laciniated BB flower in the Canby Trial Garden.
It looked even better than this picture on Tuesday. I really liked the pure pink color and the frizzy outline.

I hope that name will get posted when the results are in! That's a great one.
I have Northlake Pride and it's on my give away/throw away list as it always opens to a bright yellow center. I don't like it.
(You people have ruined me!)
I wonder if that is one of the Swan Island new ones labeled "Shaggy Chic"? (And selling for $29.95). If so, Ted's picture is way more inviting then the one on Swan Island's site.

Probably is Shaggy Chic. I should have taken a picture of it Tuesday as it lost most of the yellow in the center and the ray florets were twisted the way a laciniated is supposed to do. It looked like a fluff ball in the perfect shade of pink. It would look really good in a pastel bouquet. Plant is just a bit less than 4 feet and looked very healthy too. Hard to find nice pure pink flowers. Perhaps it's name should have been Reese Witherspoon.

How's the foliage on that one, Drew?
Is it a white that you will grow again, or pass along?

Foliage is good, I'll grow it again ( don't have many whites )

This came in a mixed color bag of Karmas. Soft coloring with multiple tones, peachy with hint of rose.
