I don't know whether I will get to try that color combinaion still this year or not...wind has not materialized yet and if its a miss I might have a few more Divas and lots of apricot things to put with them.

Our pink karma went in the compost heap. Flowers were on very short stems and weren't formed well, not at all pretty. I haven't dug up this peachy blend karma yet. Its flowers range in color and add a nice compliment to deep wines or dark burgundies.
I am in love with Diva and its depth of color. The pigments are so rich and beautiful. Another dahlia that I gush over... is Ottos Thrill. It has gorgeous pigments with a hint of shimmer. 😊

I took a photo tonight of a first year Waterlily seedling that would go perfectly with HH Exotica , something chewed it up pretty good though .

Photo from this afternoon , bloom color did not change but it looks more pink in the photo for whatever reason . Does not seem to cup very much but has nice rounded floret tips

No red ones in there. Purple flowers look very good this time of the year however the purple waterlilies are conspicuous in their absence. I have noticed that our lighter yellow flowers are much deeper in color right now and yours look very yellow too. . Noni is going to make some money from those flowers.

Hmmm, I Picked half a bucket of Born Rojo and Diablo with Mak's Lori Jean...they must have been on the backside of one of the pails. Or maybe I had taken them in already. But yes, I seem to have fewer red ones blooming now. I planted way too many small lavender ones but so many of them are charming. Born Rojo and HH Diablo have been terrific for reds this year! Other then those its been mainly Ken's choice and Grayval Shiraz. Next year, more reds, fewer purples and lavenders...But pure reds don't sell well until now...now they would sell very well and I expect these few will sell out fast. I bet when i mix them with the bittersweet berries and maybe my large crop of Chimicum Pumpkin poms that haven't been picked yet that they will go real fast!
Oh yes, I just remembered that my seedling Cranberry Swirls haven't been picked yet either...OK, I think we will be good... In fact, I can hardly wait for tomorrow to collect those and start working with them!
I really need to find a painting class over winter that will let me play with colors but haven't seen one yet.
24 bouquets made up so far...And I will do a couple of buckets of "by the stem". I've been using combinations with purple beauty berries, orange bittersweet, yellow witch hazel, a few auttumn leaves, red brown sedums, and the last odd and ends of the summer annuals.
So sad knowing that this is the last market with the dahlias for me but they aer not holding long as cuts now.I intend to go out in a rapture of color,

Out of my yellow semi-cactus varieties this year, AC Dan was my favorite, with strong growth, ample blooms and vibrant eye-catching yellows that my eyes never got tired of looking at. I'm hoping the tubers prove to be as reliable as the plant/blooms. The biggies, AC Big Johnson and AC William, were much less floracious, but still nice to grow: AC Big Johnson had striking blooms that were almost mesmerizing, while AC William's flowers had a weird 'topknot' of unopened petals that stood out from the rest of the bloom. Hollyhill Zarina's height of 8 feet was fun; however, for much of the season, the colors reminded me of embrace's 'blah' tan. Some would like it regardless, I am sure...I preferred the few weeks where the yellow was more vibrant. Windhaven Blush was as dependable as always, but rather boring compared to the other blooms. The 'blush' tips do a disservice to the rest of the flower, in my humble opinion, but the variety has everything else going for it in terms of tubers, plant sturdiness/height and quantity/quality of blooms.
As always, I feel blessed for being able to grow them all, and feel that I 'know' them now. Will I be able to narrow down what I grow next year? Hmmmm.....

Thanks for sharing CC. It's a good reminder to grow AC Big Johnson next season. I have it, but didn't grow it this year. It was very early and generous for a giant.
