AC Jeri blooming and it is about 11 inches in diameter without any disbudding. Swan Island is growing this one too. It is not a tall grower and may not reach 4 feet.

First Shaggy Dog bloom. Huge one at about 11 inches in diameter because of those long skinny florets. People bug me to buy this one and I try not to grow much of it as it makes no seeds and usually grows into large plants with huge tubers that are hard for us old geezers to dig and divide.

Ooh! Love Shaggy Dog. Mine tend to be late. I don't think they're near blooming. I've got two plants this year.

Hollyhill Icarus is blooming here. I know it's a tall one, but it's already about 6 ft tall and it is only mid August. May have to get the ladder out soon...

Melissa, it makes me happy to see Icarus doing this for you. I loved it and lost it. Loved its golden splendor!

It's been overcast for days! Upside: the dahlias are very intensely colored. I feel like I post pics of the same dahlias every year. Sorry!

Nice pictures. It looks to be a good year for Margarita for you and me. My Masquerade is not yet blooming and I sold too many tubers and did not take many cuttings so I have just a few plants. Holland Festival can be a very nice bloom as you have proven.

I haven't seen HH Masquerade yet in my garden...I know I planted it out there...
Its been a busy morning in the garden with two major weddings coming for flowers today, a drop-in customer, and getting ready for market. I have had to figuratively slap everyone's hands to keep off HH Margarita...She is MINE to work with, LOL. Everyone was drawn to her as though she were a beacon shining out over the garden.

I could have sold peachy mini-balls or fd's 3 times over.

Yellow continues to be the least requested flower color in my garden...well, creamy yellows go OK but not anything bright. Its not me, its the customers. I am using HH Lemon CHiffon and MM Buttercream in the bouquets I make up for my market stall and bet that it will go better in the shadier environment inside. It will be interesting to see. My Ali Oops were mislabeled Hotshots so I am really short on red this year (And long on Hot oranges!). I think my "Assistant" at digging time must have slid all the labels to the next plant as I have only about one Grayval Shiraz and one Crazy-4-Ieashia where as I thought I planted out 3 of each and 4 Ali-Oop.Still waiting for HH Diablo but its coming...HH Rd RIck, HH Warlock and Judith Elizabeth are putting out some bigger sized reds.

It's kinda frustrating having something bloom that you weren't expecting. This was supposed to be Pam Howden but it clearly isn't. It's 5-6" in diameter and looks very similar to Peaches 'N' Cream but a bit larger which isn't a totally unimaginable leap since the garden we're growing these in is very very fertile soil-wise and she disbudded everything around this one.

Hmmm...Eric, it still may very well be Peaches N Cream. I have 3 plants of it growing and the petal formation and color is spot on, it was very large in July and is now getting smaller. Shrug!

HH Masquerade (It's wild: the depths of the bloom are full-on black, perhaps due to the overcast weather and some smoke haze.), AC PAC

Beautiful Amanda!

My Coral Shag Carpet is blooming too and so much better then last year! Last year the stem was weak but this year it is in a prime spot and happy as can be. I will have to check my charts to see why HH Masquerade hasn't showed up yet.

Thanks! The stems on my CSC are weak! But, I have in a shady-ish spot. Will have to upgrade its digs next season.
