CG's Paragon is a very bright pink but fades a lot. Exhibitors from the Oregon Coast would bring in blooms of it and it was an amazing bright, deep pink. In my garden I culled it the first year.

Not all the LC forms do well here, but I am wondering how it would do since Lakeview Gertie did so well here this year.

It's doing very well here in the heat. It's a very full 4 foot plant with at least a dozen initial blooms. I cut a lot off since they were buried deep in the foliage. The second flush of blooms is more on the outside of the plant and looks much better. It's crowding out Northlake Heritage and I don't think that one will bloom much.

I picked HH Jeanette as a "test" flower for Margaret's Halloween arrangement for the show this week end. The flower I picked was overripe with nearly a blown center but the orange was perfect for the "Trick or Treat" design. After you pick it, it gets a deeper orange. My problem is that I oversold it and only have a couple of plants and probably will not have it available for her for the show. I will not be selling it this year. It won a medal in the trial gardens a few years ago and is a really nice orange flower. It is named after Jeanette Benson, a club member who is not only a Senior Dahlia judge, but a certified Flower Arranger Judge(National Garden Club) and a judge(all types of entries) for numerous County Fairs in our area. She picked out the flower in our garden and I made sure she had it the next year and it did exceedingly well in her garden.

I love it - doesn't go as incurved for me as some of the photos I have seen, but still a beauty. - Fun to know some of the history behind it. Last year it didn't do much for me, was slow to start and got shaded out to much. This year I planted two of them, both are over 6 ft. and doing well.

My Jeanettes are doing much better then HH Tangerine which nearly always blows its center. I am loving my HH Jeanette's this summer and hope I can get the tubers to store better then last winter. It really is a lovely flower.

I wish I could slip Margaret some of mine this weekend...I think I have about 6 blooms ready to pick.

Lou Eckoff bred dahlias and children at his acreage South of Seattle near the Airport. His dahlia moniker for many of his intros was "Sea". He called his farm Sea-tac Dahlias. I believe he had 10 kids.
He had some nice dahlias and appreciated good cut flowers. Noni would have liked to visit is dahlia patch. One of his good cut flowers was named Texas Wild Thang.

Lou was near the end of his dahlia career just as I was getting interested. I remember seeing him sitting in his booth at the Garden Shows , often sleeping there.

Hmm...any information you want to warn us about regarding Pleasant Valley? I noticed that both Pleasant Valley and Homestead have been removed from Dahlia Addict's list of suppliers.

It's good when we can alert each other to suppliers who cannot be relied upon. I know we have discussed Aztec before.

Your Sarah Mae and mine really look different.

I ordered Wyn's King Salmon from 2 different suppliers and only one grew. However, it grew as Wyn's Mauve Mist, instead, my least favorite Wyn's dahlia, and one I have already tried and eliminated several times. It is growing VERY nicely .

Weird -- can't attach a photo?

OK I changed the active scripting on IE because I am getting constant popups about "are you sure you want to leave this page" and even when clicking yes, I can't leave. But, it seems, if you disable that Java scripting, then there is a lot of others things you cannot do. If there is a pc nerd here who has an answer, I am all ears.

I thought your pink looks softer and your petals are more uniformly curved. Mine seem more tangled?
