Ouch , that hurts . The JB seem to be intent on sticking to the front corner of the yard eating the Bristol Stripe and Ferncliff Illusion plants I purchased at the nursery , glad I spent $20 on beetle chow

That's enough to make you cry.

Glad the JBs are liking my plum tree better than the dahlias here. They're harder to knock into the soapy water (balancing on a ladder with a container of soapy water, for anyone as graceless as I am, is a ticklish proposition), up that high, but it's doable and they seem to be staying there for now.
I would definitely be upset if they'd started chomping on the flowers!
I feel your pain, Kim!!

We grew Clearview Debby for the first time last year and it did exceptionally for us , kind of petered out a little earlier than some of the others near fall but made lots of blooms for us

I like Clearview Debbie too!
Alloway Candy overwintered well here, but the beetles have eaten most of the blooms so far.

Cut three blooms today. Still no pictures because it was too dark. One was what I think is Neighbor Dave, and I could't see the names of the others. They look very nice with the sunflowers, though!

I switched to a real camera and was able to get a better picture of Hollyhill Margarita. Except now it looks faded instead of over-saturated. *shrug*
Here is Normandy Splendor and Marvelous Mans, both new to me this year.

It's pretty eye-catching. 'Marvelous' is not inappropriate. ETA: Ooops! I mean 'Splendor'. :)

I think Normandy Splendor is the flame, and Marvelous Mans the laciniated. Both are splendid AND marvelous!
Hollyhill Margarita is so hard to capture in a photo. The colors simply overwhelm the camera.
