Yes, that bucket of blooms made me miss mine from previous years.
I'm still getting mostly purples and pinks. Missing the wide variety of colors!

We enjoy breeding new dahlias!
Butch has very nice deep form when fully developed. I cannot help but comment on the name that Paul Bloomquist used to name this very nice show flower. It is in the same league as Bill Mishler's Woodland's Dufus. Dufus was an outstanding flower that disappeared from commerce almost immediately. I have always felt that no one would believe that flower named Dufus was any good. I hope Butch has a better track record as it is a nice flower.

Gorgeous flowers, everyone! I picked up AC Big Johnson this year, and now I can't wait for it to bloom! Bloomquist Harmony is on the top of my list for next year. I seem to be collecting Bloomquist varieties these days.

Bloomquist Harmony just plain disappeared before planting time. I have no idea what happened as I am pretty organized with my tubers. It'll be on my list for next year for sure.

I received this as a bonus with my Blossom Gulch order.

When I google it I can't find anything except their page (new intro), but I quite like it.

Their pic show it as a fully balled form, and this looks like it will get there.

That was my bonus too, even with the one of it I had ordered. Mine is not blooming yet but I am looking forward to it.

The hints of yellow in there didn't show in the picture on the site - looks even better this afternoon.

Fifty foot long row and only one bloom.

I'm stuck there, too. 175 plants and only 2 in bloom. Most of the rest look great and are close to 4 feet tall with many buds, but just not there yet. When it happens, it is going to be spectacular.

Keep posting all your pictures; they are so wonderful to look at [and add to next year's list]

No time for photos today but I have my first ever Papageno blooming and it is pretty. It seems rather flat but the center isn't fully open yet. Dreamcatcher also has opened its first flower and the colors are rather similar to Papageno. It is very soft colors(Pinks and yellows), and I will see how they show at Market. I am guessing it might be a nice flower to use for weddings. Penn's Gift is opening now as we speak....The color looks very pretty. Pennsgift and Papageno are both pretty short so far.

These dahlias were all in the new section where I was working today and they were really showing a deficit in nitrogen. I got them weeded, and bought 6 bags of nice composted chicken manure which I mulched around each plant with. Now they are under the sprinkler so I hope it soaks down and feeds their roots. The manure had no odor to it at all but looks nice and rich. 6 bags isn't going to go far, but they are light weight enough that I can lift them with care. I think I will be making a lot of trips back to town for more bags of the chicken doo.

If the amount of likes I have gotten from my post sales of pink martini must be through the roof.

I have to admit - I bought a Pink Martini this year based on your pics last year. It is one of my waterlilies that was rabbit munched early in the season. It recovered, but is behind most of the rest of my plants.

OH! Love that first one! I'm a huge fan of anemones. They seem to grow like weeds here. I hope that one passes. Reminds me a little of Baja.
