Yes, I ordered it as a white, and mine was deeply streaked with lavender. Jon had already mentioned that there was a problem with it sporting that way, and I knew I might not get a pure white. He really shouldn't keep listing it as a white. None of the blooms on mine were white.

If sports are generally a loss of genetic material, I would think that the all white ones would actually be the sports, and the streaky lavender the original. Maybe when it was originally grown, the weather was warm enough to bleach out the color.

Took more pics of AC Big Johnson since it is all that's blooming really.
But today HH Margarita is open(ish)! I am so excited, I am going to share this picture even though it is too deeply colored for me to capture properly. Please imagine it purplish toward the tips and deep mango in the center, and much less of a neon pink blob.

Nice pic of the Big Johnson & Bee.
I think I am going to really like all three of these:
Scaur Swinton (the earwig, not nearly as cute as the bee)
HH Goldrush
HH Tigress

Amanda, I love the contrast of the dahlia with the building in the background!
I can tell you are a "COLOR GIRL", like me.
Thanks for the description of HH Margarita. I can visualize it now!

Nice blooms, Geof & Amanda!!
Ted, AC Twist bloomed pure white the first two years I grew it. Then, I had different bushes sport with various amounts of Purple striping. This year I only had one of the original tubers that sported make it and it is showing just a blush of raspberry
(with every bloom very consistent with each other).
Noni, I sent you a cutting of AC Twist showing purple stripes, so you may have gotten your original from my batch?

For you waterlily fans: Teresa Bergman brought in a white waterlily bloom to our club meeting. Unfortunately, for half of the meeting she had one of those brain cramps and could not remember the name. It is new from England. After the break she remembered the name. Now I am the same age as Teresa and it is my turn for the brain cramp. I think she said it was something like Vivian Russell.
Jon, nearly all those wonderful cuttings from you got ruined while we were away that year...my greenhouse help did not have enough experience nor did we anticipate the high temperatures so early in the summer...so I did order AC Twist from AC....
My AC Joe, new to me this year but admired for several years in the catalog is blooming...Oh wow! I love it!
For some reason all my tags are fading in the sun this year. Not sure whether it is the "garden marke"r or the marker pens that were supposed to last outdoors(Can't think of the brand at the moment). I have some wonderful other new ones blooming that I can't read the names on. Fortunately I wrote them down in my notebook right after planting, though any with health problems that have been replaced won't be on the written record. Time to remedy that before more damage is done. There is something really gorgeous blooming that is new to me and has no tag out there.

Yes, Vivian Russell is the name of the white waterlily. Very nice. I hope Teresa can increase this one enough to sell it soon. I didn't get a picture last night, but here is one from David Brown's UK site

Lovely!

The Viking Princess spotted this one at the American Dahlia Socity show at Hofstra last year. She requested that I add it to our collection. It is not fully opened yet. I wanted it to last in a vase in her room for a while.
Ted, I bet yours are putting all their energy into growing 8 feet tall before blooming .
I have my first HH Summerwine this morning. Its rather a small flower but the plant is still pretty small too, The color is real pretty.

Jane! Your colors are so vivid!!

Love all the bloom pictures! AC Big Johnson is really pretty close up. Bloomquist Pumpkin looks really interesting, can't wait for Viking to update it when it's in full bloom. What magic wand is Geoff using to have so many beautiful blooms this early in the season? I'm totally jealous that Jane has buckets of blooms!
