Beautiful, LeeAnn! Where do I pre-order her?

As a flower arranger I would adore working with that one...all the shades of colors I see that could be matched or contrasted... or worked through in different levels of color.

Nice modern colors in this flower. Breeding for color is in a way more interesting than breeding for form.

The seedlings are starting to bloom. This plant had three stalks coming up and one stalk with some flowers on it broke off. Margaret brought it into the kitchen and we took some pictures. She is especially fond of this one as it is a hand crossed seedling. I am posting in the picture section as it may not be a show type waterlily but seems to be photogenic. Lots more seedlings about to bloom.
At last! Looking forward to seeing lots more. I am glad to see that yours are reaching the fun stage!

Second year seedling that has interesting color patterns. I wish one would sport to all purple.

That is a great purple and the addition of variegation along with the colored ray florets is really unusual. HH Double Take has super vase life and the petals never shatter so I hope this shares some genetics with Double Take. I had plans to make a full row (100 plants) of Double Take for market this year. The gophers had other plans so now I am back down to just two mother plants. It was also a very good seed producer and the gophers also appreciated the Double Take first-year seedlings. What size is this?

Reminds me of a purple and white Double Jill. People go nuts over that variety.

Half an inch bigger than Double Take at about 3.5 inches. Makes good tubers. Does not shatter. Margaret has said she sort of likes it and that is a huge endorsement.

I love all the Hollyhill variegated varieties, so many to choose from and they're all great. Beautiful chaos, which Hollyhill Spider Woman falls into the category of. I'm hoping at least one of the four tuber clumps isn't diseased but that's asking a lot ( at least for American Meadows).

Spiderwoman is hard to keep healthy and our stock went bad. It is not a seed maker(one seed seedling is all we ever got and it was trash).

H H Spiderwoman is one of my 5 personal favorite dahlias. I never could grow it very well but I saw a few blooms in shows that were stunning. Good luck with your stock Eric, I guess your old stock didn't survive the move from Idaho?
I have one that is doing nicely. We will see how it does by the end of the season. IT is in full bloom now. I think it came from Ted about 3 years ago.

Two had crown gall when I dug them up and the other was a very puny clump that dried up shortly after being stored. A Dutch tuber reseller was the only place I could find tubers so I ordered them, they looked great, and then tossed after the deep freeze. I managed to get 5 clumps of HH SW from the three-pack I purchased. I'm hoping these won't end up with the same fate.
