Oh man, no fair. I'd be perfectly fine with growing strictly Hollyhill varieties.

That is so flattering. Perhaps I should have said:
It is costing me a lot of money to have people do "spontaneous" I like Hollyhill dahlias blurbs on the internet. How much do I owe you?
My kitchen bouquet of first and second and a couple third year year flowers. Picture is straight out of the cell phone.

Amazing you can get such perfection in that many forms! The white (min?) ball really stands out.

The min ball won best seedling at the show. It has near perfect flowers and nice straight, long stems. Now here is where it gets interesting. Hollyhill seedlings are supposed to grow 5-7 feet tall. I would be tolerant of a healthy 4 footer. This one does not make 4 feet. Good cut flowers of this size have probably 2 or 3 good flowers on each plant. This one will have about one at time. So it does not grow tall, does not have a lot of flowers but the ones it does have are near perfect. I do not know how it is doing in the tuber department. So, as a cut flower it would be dud unless it makes tubers like Cornel or Chilson's Pride. and you could grow lots of plants.

Actually, she has her runt sale after all of her other sales, and they're actually as good as any regular tuber other's would sell.
She is also being supplied stock from Mike Alexander, of 6 Mt View varieties too. That was just recent news.

Here's the page that has the info about it. The gist I got was that sales for 2023 were more restricted than in the past. But I don't know her following and it's possible she has no expectation to sell out from the first three categories of people that get a crack at it. It seems unlikely that the public can expect access to 'in demand' stuff since they say they are collectors and grow small quantities of many varieties.
Jess has an incredible collection. I need to put my CC under lock & key before visiting her sight. So much beauty and temptation!

I'm in her second group of charity donators. On Nov 21st, I'll get her email. right now, I have 40 varieties that's on my wishlist, and they basically fill orders based on first come first serve from her emails. The first group's emails start tomorrow, the first person has 24 hours to respond, and then the 2nd person has 24 hours to respond, etc. But with our 2nd charity group, we all get the email at once. She has a closed FB group called Dahlias anonymous, and then her public FB page Jess's Dahlia Garden. She seems really sweet, and her videos of her gardens are gorgeous.
Oh, and she abhores the fighting and chaos that opening can cause, and site crashes and greediness that other growers have to deal with. She collects charity donations instead, in order to get first dibs. She's really into that as her primary drive.

2022 seedling. What I loved about this one was the coloring was incredibly consistent throughout the season. Usually these color blends (blushes) will shift in the fall but this one kept "keeping on."
What a glorious flower! I would love to grow that one!
