So nice to have a few dahlias that aren't all chewed up by the beetles!
AC "Dark Rabbit" and Alloway Candy.
I have very little else blooming that is salvageable, but lots of buds!
I hope to be able to make up one bouquet by Saturday, at the least! I found a pretty pink one in the noid bed..I don't think it is where Chilson's was. It could be a Wyoming Wedding but I think it might be a Swan Island or the one my son's girlfriend gave me from Costco. It is pretty, being the first pink one!

OK, here are my first 4 dahlias!
very bright pretty little seedling...color like the "Catherine Jane" seedling but very short,
and here is Calico Twinkle, back for a 2nd years engagement. And yes, I love it! It is also shorter then I remember but its the first flower.
Javier G, my first named dahlias...very small waterlily from Arrowhead dahlias. And yes, some color fade on outer petals. my pink NOID. Anyone recognize it? Its a bb. Note the yellow color at petal bases.

Noni, regarding your NOID, did you ever order OBO Katie from Arrowhead?
That is so true and my moment of joy yesterday was realizing that the seedling I liked last year is pretty amazing this year. Its the one I call "Twinkle". Its real cute up close but from a distance it glows and is full of pure joy! The colors start out on the dark side and lighten just to the really bright shades, rather then the "faded denim" look The petals all opened out evenly also. This photo was of the darker colors when it first opened. I think a bush filled with these would be amazing!

Noni, how big are the flowers on Twinkle? I want to see it all the way open too. You know how I like the bright stuff!

I am really enjoying the dill with the dahlias.
It's like fireworks! I think I'll have to put it in my 4th of July arrangement...except I only have purples and pinks right now.
