I grew Precious long ago. It was on my very first Swan Island order.

My little ones are starting to open. June 21st - never had this many in bloom at this time of year before, but I have never had so many Orchids either.

I'm impressed with your first blooms while I just have buds! I do have a lot of buds however...And the first flower to open is going to be one of my 2014 seedlings. I can tell it is lavender but the rest is still a mystery! I think this one was from 2014 seeds but this is the first year to grow it. It should keep me happy for a few days as others open.

So that's what Kelgai Ann should look like!
Mine has had every bloom covered in Japanese beetles so far.
Hopefully, they will be gone soon!

My first bloom! This one is extra special because it is a mass import that is true to its label. Creme de Cassis.

Newborn in the garden. I've been watching this cocoon for a few days now, and I was lucky enough to see it emerge this morning. It was butter yellow with no spots when it emerged.

Yes, I would enjoy the small dark red!

I need dahlias for market next week...the roses are taking a break and we barely made our first $100 today. People were asking when the dahlias would start.

Just toured the garden. 45 dahlias that were well enough deveoped to disbud the side buds. I wonder how many will be ready for market in a week?

I have been amazed at..HH Jitterbug

Thumb of 2016-06-26/FLflowerboy/9ebc9e
Holly Hill Jitterbug might just be my favorite dahlia for 2016!
What's not to love? This dahlia has it all...strong stems, lush foliage, perfect form, and vigor for blooming in the heat.

Geof - Love the Juul's All Star. I finally tossed mine last year as it was always sickly. Then, I couldn't find a seller this year. It's so pretty!

Love that one Jon! It's growing nicely here, but still a ways from blooming. If it can handle your heat it should handle mine too.

Jon - you might have to add that one to the heat loving dahlias list
