A lot of my stock of HH Lemon Ice had very little white on it last year. I actually like those better because they don''t burn in the sun like the white on them does.

I continue to be impressed every week with
Hay Day
So jealous of your Sheer Heaven. I gave up on it after buying it 3 years in a row. Maybe it LIKES hotter temps.
But hey, Bluetiful has its first bloom open! That is another one that some years grows and some years doesn't. It's a bit on the short side and might get buried some years by its neighbors. This year I removed virused ones on each side and now it is in bloom and I can see it.

Flowers are happening in my garden, today!! Finally!!! Not that they're great, but they're there!!
.............Neighbor Dave (?) - both these are the same variety...................................NOT Barbara B.........................................Seduction.............................
...........Fidalgo Not Splashing...................Bronze Cornel Imitating Zinnia...Alfa Max on next bush over with correct color......Aaaand....I can't Remember....
........Yeah.....Can't Remember............No....didn't look, it was hot & flash went off.............HH Lemon Ice.................May be the elusive Cafe au Lait - must check
.............Robann Royal.................................Tartan with no white................................Hotcakes...................................This was HH Starburst until the rabbit dug it up and ate the roots.
I'm going to have to go out in the morning around 5:30 when it's still cool-ISH, and look at some of the markers so I know who I've got pictures of. It is really nice to know that I didn't actually mismark my Alfa Max - one plant is just not Orange for whatever reason. All the foliage looks the same, but the other plant is definitely red flowering. Was Alfa Max a sport? Maybe one plant reverted?
Tartan, Robann Royal, Hotcakes and all the little HS Flames are the happiest because they get some shade in the afternoon. Robann Royal still has a hard green center.
Is Fidalgo Splash supposed to be shaded to stay more white?
Hoping for some cooler weather here!!

Skipley Bonanza is once again my favorite bloom in the garden. Love love love it!
Its rare for me to have the same favorite two years in a row. I am fickle that way.

If it were in my garden I'd be raving, too, Geof! It's great!
C DG , the shape is not very similar to my Neighbor Daves nor is the color, but those colors are showing up in the seedlings from it. I have the most interesting bunch of seedlings opening from Neighbor Dave! they need another day or two before they are open enough to photograph, but they are all variagated ones I think. Last year my Neighbor Dave went open centered so I was hoping to have one like it among the seedlings from it. I haven't seen its clone yet...

Noni, I think Sheer Heaven must be a heat lover since many other dahlias around it have gone dormant for me but SH keeps blooming like it was just waiting for a hundred degrees to put on a show!!

Jon, that would explain why it did so poorly for me....but it looks so delicate!

Jon - nice to know it is heat loving. Those delicate colors are the ones I usually shy away from. Now two more on my list: Sheer Heaven and Skipley Bonanza. Already marking the plants I will cull next year to make room.

Boy every one seems to be doing better than me this year. The heat wave just stalled every thing. I have to close one eye when I look at every one pictures or I would be going nuts trying to buy them all.
