Especially considering it is only open to members, not the general public this year!

It broke my heart....along with all the other things they broke. So here is what my darling girl brought me!Thumb of 2021-08-29/Islander/03291a The Dahlia Lady mug!

I love all the dahlia photos, but your pic/post really touched me hearing that you haven't seen your daughter in 3 years! I don't know how you did it. My heart would just burst if I couldn't see my kids for that long. You are a strong woman for sure.

Its really hard not seeing her more often but farmer/pastors don't make much money...at least not while they are living in Maine! You know how a farm always needs something replaced whether it is a vehicle or a well pump! They are actually expanding their little homebuilt house that was a former woodshop...I am mighty proud of them and glad my daughter got to take a break and come out here and meet our family baby. He just turned 2 years old and he is really bonding with his auntie! My older daughter always puts so much love and care into the gifts we exchange! Sometimes I have to wait weeks and months for my gift but its always worth it!

We had to rush through viewing my dahlia patch this evening but she was able to indicate some she would like and I imagine a box of tubers will be on its way to her next spring...I'm going to try to teach her about pot tubers. They grow and sell flowers at their Farmer's Market along with meat and garden produce. I totally approved her photos of bouquets the showed me!

Hy Patti is such a pleasure to photograph.

I especially love macro photos of dahlias. I use some of mine as wallpaper on my phone and ipad. Makes me feel good when my screens wake up with flower photos.

The Dahlia Lady mug!

I love the mug! Wonder if this came from a set. How cool would that have been!
Bet you have to pinch yourself. That's a long time without seeing a loved one. Enjoy every second. ☺️

I believe there are others in the set...not sure where my daughter found it. Yes, I see that they were by a Swedish Artist , Elsa Beskow 1874-1953. It came from Design House, Stockholm. Elsa wrote books for children and illustrated them herself. Now I am almost afraid to use it for fear that I will break this peice of art and history!

Just looked her up. She was one talented artist.
Might have to look for her book “The Flowers' Festival”.

:) Very nice. I have relatively few blooms this year due to very minimal investment, but I was happy to be able to give a few to the volunteer who came out to help me evaluate what critter is messing around under my house.

My Peaches and Cream are starting to get their white tips back now that the weather is a bit cooler. The solid peach effect was beautiful too though,

"G.D.Flashback" would be a great name for it. Is that a seedling?
