I love the color of "Hollyhill Cafe' a' la Margaret", it is similar to Anne Hyde and Camano Cloud in color. Is there a WL or FD in that pure flesh color, I have never grown any.

Flesh color in dahlias seems to be possible in two ways; (1) a white dahlias is overlaid with an even coat of pink pigment(actually red in very small amounts). I believe this seedling from last year has this combination . The key is "slight amount" as when you are talking about color in dahlias the amount of pigment is part of the equation. Breeding minuscule amounts of evenly distributed pigment may be difficult. Notice that in the center of the bloom, the pigment is more visible and that detracts from the perceived even spread of the pigment although as the center petals mature they too will have very little red pigment, .

Cropped out of a larger picture. Seedling is a bit 'over the top' but that may be why we like it.

Kitchen picture: Hollyhill Leda and Hollyhill Pink Parfait. We may sell Parfait next year. Could have sold it this year but it does not make very big tubers. There are too many nice pink waterlilies out there.

Leda was special. I know the petals aren't rounded on the tips but I loved it anyhow...Do you think you will ever sell it again?

"...will ever sell it again?" We did not sell it this year and have saved all of the best stock. If it does well this year and makes lots of tubers.....?
As usual, when Margaret really likes something, we may end up keeping all tubers for our selves.

Picture of same purple flower taken with a camera set on Adobe color gamut and the other sRGB gamut. The word gamut means the range of colors the camera is allowed to save. Note that the Adobe gamut is more suitable for taking pictures of purple flowers. It is more complicated than that as you have to save the Adobe picture in sRGB so your computer can open the picture file and for some reason even though you have changed the file to sRGB, it displays the purple colors better. Many high end cameras allow shooting in Adobe gamut but my Canon that is only somewhat expensive does not have this setting.

Is she still around, Ted, or did she flap her glittery wings and whirl off into the skies? She looks like magic.

"...whirl off into the skies." Crying As you can see, this one has a delicate flower on a delicate plant and it had delicate tubers too. It could be pretty but was not very vigorous.
