a few more...didn't mean to post just one photo, I'm getting IG brain.
I'll have to look at these during the cold days of winter.

Portia, what is the purple dahlia?
What is the camera that are you using? I like how your purple looks purple. My camera makes my purples look magenta.

The lavender one is Lavender Perfection, but the dark purple, I am not sure. It came from a Home Depot grab bag, I have 3 plants and I love it. I think it MAY be Thomas Edison but I'm not sure... it is very prolific, tall, long stems, all around great.
Camera is a Nikon D3000 with a 35mm prime portrait 1.8 lens. It is pretty good with most colors, but reds/fuchsia do not come out true.

It surely looks like Thomas Edison and it is one of the purpelest dahlias. I like the one in the middle.
Ted, glad you think it looks like Thomas E. You mean the orange one in the middle? That's Motto, planted it very late so glad I saw a few blooms.

I like the picture as the only flower in focus is the middle one.

Crazy Ivan's getting ready to bloom for probably the last time unless this warm weather keeps up for a few more weeks.

The bud is lovely - I hope you'll share the flower if it opens before Jack Frost arrives!

Pinelands Princess, I love this dahlia's side view when it's almost fully open, so fat and frilly.

I have not had access to my pictures for month or two as my kid was fixing the computer. Then he forgot to hook up the picture storage hard drive. Her is an artsy picture of Hollyhill Hello Dolly that I took last September.

And I hope I'll get to when mine blooms this summer! Could anything beat HH Margarita? Maybe.....
The green bud really makes the picture.

Ted, I can hardly wait for mine to bloom. I fell in love with Hollyhill Hello Dolly based on the pictures on your website.

I have seen some really nice Hilltop Stella blooms in the shows but it did very poorly in our garden. Many of the red bicolor dahlias are not easy growers.
Here is a picture of a B sized seedling that makes lots of tubers and is easy to grow. We are naming it Peppermint.
