Decided I wanted to grow it again a few years ago and have not found a healthy plant yet. I orderd a tuber and it rotted . I probably shouldn't spend any more money looking for a tuber that will be like I remember it.
Look me up in the fall. We must have lucked out with some healthy stock because what you describe is what we have. Can't love it enough! I can't remember where it was sourced from.
Cosey, maybe we can do a trade ...I like trades:-)

She is an optimistic dahlia, probably with a great personality and hidden octoploidal beauty!

Seedlings. Hot weather damage on the bottom of the bicolor bloom ruined the picture according to Margaret. It makes the picture more "authentic" to me.

That's a beautiful girl with a lot of depth. Is the gene that creates the pointed tip on the petals common? I don't know if I have ever seen it before. Maybe it is environmental?

This bicolor is a "Heinz 57" cross of Meggos breeding and Hollyhill . Those sharp tips came from the Meggos side although the pollen parent does not have really sharp tips. This is the first flower on a first year seedling, so I do not know whether it will even have a second nice flower.

I use the filtered morning light in my garage as a photo booth each morning. I was calibrating the exposure and wanted to share this photogenic seedling. I try to catalog all of them and group them by parents season after season. I like having the visual library.

The picture looks like one of those hand painted Victorian plant species pictures.

Everything was right about this flower today. The way the light absorbed into its pigments. Perfect mature petals without a hint of pollen. It really was at it's best in the most simple way.

Margaret in 2005. I do not remember the occasion but it may have been for a wedding.

This picture has some depth of field. Flower is seedling 18-32 that is "A" sized and has bright colors. Margaret has been told to think up a name for it and the obvious suggestions would include sunset type names. . Too many of those out there so it could be anything I like names with copper but she does not.

Maybe a favorite place you've enjoyed a sunset from?
The flower is so beautiful and it looks like it loves to bloom.
I don't see any copper though maybe it is the photo/computer technology hiding it. I see more strawberries and cream or raspberry triffle..

That's a beautiful color, I need something to replace Sandia Shomei which used to be my favorite lavender but I can no longer grow it in my climate (too hot). I notice the Paypal button for HH Leda still works on your old web catalog http://hollyhilldahlias.aroundbeantown.com/HHVarieties/Leda.... but I thought better... I will wait until she is available.
