The first time I took photos I also photographed the numbered posts. I could look back and number them by that method. Where there is no number post I just assign a #. I might do that tomorrow when it is raining.
There are still quite a few more to bloom too, So if no one shows an interest in a picture we can leave it off and keep a scoreboard of our favorites.

Was at a judging clinic today, and walked Harry's garden. Not a lot of blooms yet (I didn't take many picts of what was there) but still fun to see the layout and support systems. The horizontal netting is for his seedlings only.

For those of us with short term memory loss, what is Harry's last name?

My apologies, by habit I omit identifying information on the web, but he would not mind.
Nordstrom. He is a true gentleman, very low-key, unpresumptuous elderly man that quietly mentors anyone that slows down enough to listen. He was a past president of our club, and has introduced Sister Ann (BB FD Y) that some Cubit folk might be growing courtesy of me or Drew. Perhaps Drew knows what else he might have introduced.

Thanks for sharing, CC! I appreciate AC AU this season. It has continued blooming, despite the heat and rain.
Ted, NTAC Mia Li has been tops for blooming this season. The flowers have become much smaller in the heat, but it has kept producing at an amazing rate! It is one of my wife's favorites.

Thanks Noni for taking and posting all the amazing trial garden dahlia photos, looks like I should start saving money for next season's dahlias...
Thanks CC for pictures of the netting and dahlias.

Anyone notice the two fawns in front and momma in the back on the first image in Harry's garden?

I didn't and I blew it up to look. Cute, hopefully they don't chomp on Dahlias!
luvflowers, Just start a list of the ones we show that you really like. Its a good way to check them out first. And yes, It is impossible not to buy some new ones each year. Hopefully I will not be sucked into so many new ones because I am liking most of the ones I have so far this year and don't think I will be giving up many of them. I bought so many new ones this year, that they should do me for a while. Then of course there are the new introductions! I'm going to have to arrange to wake up at midnight again when Hollyhills sales open! The one night of the year I don't mind if I can't sleep...who needs New Years. I prefer "New Dahlia Year".

What did you learn at the clinic?

Hmm... I'd like to say a lot, but most of what they went over was straight from the manual and not really mind-shattering. I played with the color swatches while they read the rules of conduct, and quietly guessed at the official color of blooms on the table before cross referencing.
I'm going to try to visit Bob Romano's seedling patch before the shows and have him walk me through what he's looking for and why, as well as his competition plants. I'll get more from that visit then the clinic. I hope to do that with Stan V., in Youngstown Ohio, as well. Missed the Mahoning Valley picnic at his house due to sickness, but asked him to keep me apprised of club activities around judging.
There are a series of judging videos online for candidates on the ADS sites, which I'll watch at some point.
I am trying to post shots from Pt Defiance Test Gardens but my freaking computer is not saving them in the usual place. I had them all numbered to in accordance with their posts. I am so aggravated! I had about 200 shots saved out. if I can find them I will try to condense them down. Right now I am just upset with computers that change how they do things!

Oh, Noni - how rude!
CC, I watched the first one and will watch the others before showing anything this season. Never hurts to know what is critical and what is not.
For those who are members, the judging videos are in the member section of the ADS website. Would be interested in what Bob and Stan have to say if you feel like sharing...
