. I bought this at a club auction. It was supposed to be a good cutting flower, deep pink, named Summit Glow from Les Connell. It looks like I am the happy owner of Tahoma Pixie, a new intro last fall. Its supposed to get 5' tall. I am quite charmed with this one, though it is now in the wrong section of my garden.
Here is my first Bloomquist Tori P for this year. We are in a stream of 80 degree days so it is at its palest. 2 out or the 3 tubers I bought form Red Hawk appear to be healthy...YEY! I had to remove the other one. Hoping it stays healthy so I can share it out this winter!

It's been a few years since I've grown Bee Happy but I think I'm gonna have to purchase that one for next year if I can.

This is a new addition from Les and Viv. It is a b size cactus type. I have not got a review from the queen Viking yet , but I am glad to have it in the collection.

One needs lots of patience this time of the year. Dahlias putting on growth but not yet blooming. A few seedlings blooming. The first blossom on the second year seedlings has nice color but is not a good example of what it looked like last year.

Here's my first 'real' dahlia of the year, AC Inara. I don't count single types. I dug this in November last year for trading and put one tuber back in the ground, so it's not surprising it's a two or three weeks ahead of the others as it was planted about six months earlier.
Ted's got it right. The rest look like this.

This one is new to me this year. It is a giant semi cactus type dahlia. The stems on this one are like sticks. It is called rouge star burst,

Some of the late June Dahlias and company. If I had realized that July would be so brutal, I'd have taken pics of the many dahlias that I gave away.

Ordered Sherwood's Peach from a few suppliers, the majority (9?) arrived with a note explaining they were out of stock so they subbed Peaches & Cream. I wasn't thrilled, asked for a refund, they said it would take a week to process... two weeks go by and I call them again asking why the refund hadn't posted, told they were just about to call and let me know that they actually had sent Sherwood's Peach. So, I planted them hoping and now I know... This CAN'T be Sherwood's Peach! Yet, they're still selling them on their site and they don't even offer Peaches & Cream. Super confused. Again, not thrilled, but I'll admit I'm enjoying seeing something bloom and the color isn't that bad compared to what the pictures I've seen online for Peaches & Cream... if it's even that!

The stats just don't tell the story on this dahlia. The color is stunning, It is the color of the dress and lip stick that Megan Mc Cain wore on the couch of out number once. The wife drulls over it when ever she sees it.

Hollyhill Black Beauty is now the most popular Hollyhill variety and has made it to Europe. Swan Island Dahlias has sold it for several years. In the shows it leads all the BB sized informal decorative flowers in blue ribbons. It is easy to grow and seems to do well in all climates and it is a good tuber maker. All this information is from a totally unbiased person.

Nice blooms! I could sell every Hollyhill Black Beauty that opens. Everyone hovers over this one. Also, it keeps going in the heat.
