Seems like Tod threw down the gauntlet with his garden photo shots.
Just a few from my garden. Theses were mostly taken as "art shots" taken not just to document the variety, but for some of my projects and photo contests.

Awesome blooms! I love the Alauna Pochette Surprise - how big a bloom is it? I thought I saw on the French Alauna guy's site it is an A.

I tried to post the B's and C's earlier, then accidentally shut off the computer before I posted them. I will put them up tomorrow.
I am so glad I ordered AC Shitake! I like all your pics but that one sets my heat a flutter! And yes, I loved your pic of Ayer's Lavender Ice too!

Western New York State Dahlias! Dahlias! Dahlias!
Someone in our local dahlia society had tried to grow AC Shitake, and called it a "turd", I didn't have a problem with it. It bloomed its head off all summer, the form was incredible, and it was a good tuber producer. This is what it looked like in October in a bouquet at a gala fund raiser for the local botanical garden.
I know it's "Shitake". Spell corrector is the bane of my existence sometimes.

Who has not said something disparaging about a dahlia variety that some that else loves? I try not to make such remarks when I am judging at a show. I am much more likely to speak my mind among good friends but one has to be aware of being overheard. In the parlance of "dahlia manners" the old saying of "if you cannot say anything good, say nothing at all" . In dahlia publications, if they write something about a new dahlia, they only speak good words. No words or few words about a new variety is an indication that the writer is not very impressed. AC Shitake(only one "i" in the name) looks pretty good to me and I may try it if I spot it at a club sale or auction. Many of the newer AC varieties are sold at the Spring Federation meeting by Ken Greenway. He donates the proceeds to the Federation. The best bargains are the "used" pot tubers that he sells. They have already provided him enough cuttings and have lots of cutting material left in them.

Elsie C and Devon Pearl caught my eye out of that lot of images... Still love Elsie
Huston, but as I grow it, I didn't have to drool as much over it.
I have to check my classification guide for those two to see when they were introduced and how they do on the table. I only saw Devon Pearl on one price list from 2014 and Clear Creek's blog... BB FD L. Very cute.

The gold and white waterlily has no name. It was supposed to be Alauna Clair Obscure, but certainly is NOT that variety. The vendor is replacing it but has no clue as to what that is.

Is anyone else having problems with Clear Creek's photos coming through very dark?
What size flower is Devon Pearl? That is pretty cute. I grow Devon Icon...keep thinking about dropping it but it is so useful when it blooms. I guess I will just grow it on purpose intead of planting it and forgetting it is there this year...

Yes, some of the photos will be dark. Like I said at the beginning, some of these are "art photos" with the camera set to produce a certain effect.
