That Clearview Bold does not look like a B-SC. More like a stellar. It is not part of the new intros they put on their facebook page; so I'm not sure what it is??
The second one doesn't look like Tahoma Lizzie either. T.Lizzie looks like it's either ID or Stellar. They have it listed at "BB-W-pr" which doesn't tell me what the form is. I ordered it as the photo sold me right away. http://www.dahliasbylesandviv.com/photo/tahomalizzie.jpg

Trial garden results and photos have been posted to ADS site. Congrats again Ted and Margaret!
Nice Show, Ted and Margaret! Love that 2nd picture of HH Jeannette! Interesting how so many photos of HH Pink Martini make it look dark lavender pink...It never looked that color in the sunlight to me...those photos make it look the same color as HH Leda almost. It looks like HH Angela really responds to different temperatures with different pigments..I had noticed that in my garden and enjoyed it. So, the warmer it is, the more orange it develops? It has nice colors at any stage.
When are you going to have all your photos up so we can start the drooling process?

Web site is a couple of weeks away. Need to recuperate after digging and have lots of dividing to do.
Mothers Love is Steve Meggos giant dahlia that was going to be in all trial gardens and be released this year but BJs' dahlias lost 100 tubers of it when the heater thermostat failed and they were cooked. It will be released next year and according to trial garden rules, it can be entered twice in the same garden and the highest score counts. Look for it in all the trial gardens next year. Swan Island asked Steve if he would sell it to them and he refused. It is a good tuber maker and a very vigorous grower. KA's Cloud was next to it at the trial garden and both had a very nice first flush of blooms. However, KA's Cloud's second and third flush of flowers were much smaller(about 8 inches in diameter) and Mothers Love still had giant(over 10 inches) flowers until frost. And Mothers Love grew a foot taller and had many more laterals. .

I'll have to keep my eye out for it , for some reason I was under the impression that you were going to sell Mothers Love Ted . Hmm were you going to grow or sell something for another individual or am i making up rumors here ?

Steve Meggos sent Mothers Lovet to me to try 3 seasons ago. I have been helping him increase stock. The last I heard he is releasing it through BJ's Dahlias. By the way, Jim Lamson of BJ's Dahlias is moving from Selah, Washington to Nyssa, Oregon. That is a hop, skip and a jump from Boise, Idaho(same valley). As you all are aware, Boise is the lucky place that had the highest increase in temps during the past years. The climate is not all that different from Selah but just a notch warmer. They grow lots of onions in Nyssa and potatoes too.

Aha I got it now , guess I'll save my pennies for it next season it was on the must have list for this year , I remember seeing a photo of it and one Mr Kennedy described it as "Next great giant dahlia " gotta have that .
Ted is there any plans of releasing HH seedling 12-33 ? Every time I sift through your " unreleased seedlings " page i stop to drool over it , that is just darn cute.

12-33 is destined for the trial gardens next year. We really like it and we hope it does well. It is another one with good vigor and lots of blooms with good stems. And it makes good tubers that store well also. I am always amazed that many of the new dahlias are not all that vigorous. Who wants a dahlia that you have to baby along?

Drat, Steve had said that he was going to send Mothers Love to me last year, but we lost touch. Bummer on missing out on that one. His pictures of it were stunning.
Kind of funny... He offered to send me Steve Meggos, and I shuddered, declining as politely as I could. He was pretty taken back that someone would NOT want something for nothing, so he kept trying, showing me different ones until he elicited an "ahhh!" at Mothers Love. Really enjoyed talking with him... Great sense of humor. Would love to pick his brain more.

Ahhh...I know Nyssa well. It is indeed very close to me here in Boise. It will be exciting to have a major grower close by.
We did not enter any of our seedlings on the ADS Seedling bench but our friend entered two for us. It takes three scores to compete for the medal. We probably should have done that third score on Jeanette and Rudolph. Mike Iler had five varieties in the running. He came in second on three of the medal races. Iler's Fiona lost to Bloomquist Doug C. in the MB BA competition. Fiona is the better flower in my opinion as it won a best in show at a fairly large show.
